Uttara University and GarmentTechBD Sign MoU to Strengthen Training & Industry Collaboration
On 10 July 2025, Uttara University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Academy of Garments Technology Bangladesh (GarmentTechBD) to foster training, development, and capacity-building opportunities for students and professionals.
The partnership aims to create impactful collaborations through competitions, workshops, skill development programs, and industry-relevant training, equipping both undergraduate and graduate learners with practical knowledge to meet the evolving needs of the job market.
The signing ceremony was honored by the presence of Professor Dr. Eaysmin Ara Lekha, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University. Representing GarmentTechBD was Dr. Henry Soo, Strategic Partner & Master Trainer, while Professor Dr. Gour Gobinda Goswami, Honourable Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Uttara University, also attended.
Other distinguished attendees included Mr. Kazi Mahiuddin, Registrar; Mr. Mohammad Ali, Controller of Examinations; Dr. Ishrat Hossain, Dean of the School of Business Administration (SoB); and Dr. Md. Sultanul Islam, Dean of the School of Civil, Environment and Industrial Engineering (SoCEIE). Faculty members from the Departments of Textile Engineering, Fashion Design and Technology (FDT), and Business Administration were also present at the event.
This MoU marks a significant step in bridging academia with industry, ensuring that future graduates are equipped with skills aligned to Bangladesh’s growing apparel and textile sector.
