MoU Signing Ceremony between University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh and Academy of Garments Technology Bangladesh (GarmentTechBD)

The University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Academy of Garments Technology Bangladesh (GarmentTechBD) on Monday, 10 November 2025, at the ULAB campus. The partnership aims to strengthen collaboration in education, research, and professional development across the garment, apparel, and supply chain sectors.
Through this agreement, both institutions will work together on a wide range of initiatives including industry-focused competitions, workshops, hands-on simulations, training programs, and capacity-building activities. The goal is to create greater alignment between academic learning and real-world industry requirements, ensuring students develop the skills needed for career success.
As part of the MoU, ULAB students will gain priority access to GarmentTechBD’s e-learning platforms, professional certification programs, and industry-oriented internships. In addition, students will benefit from complimentary ASCM and GarmentTechBD memberships, enabling them to expand their networks, participate in exclusive events, and enhance their employability.
The MoU was signed by Professor Jude William Genilo, Acting Vice Chancellor of ULAB, and Dr. Henry Soo, Strategic Partner of the Academy of Garments Technology Bangladesh, representing their respective institutions. In this MoU signing ceremony, Ms. Jennifer Hossain, Director of International Affairs at ULAB, and Md. Panna Rahman, Project Leader at GarmentTechBD, were also present.
This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of ULAB and GarmentTechBD to promoting innovation, research excellence, and skill development that meet the evolving demands of Bangladesh’s garment and textile industries. The partnership is expected to contribute significantly to workforce readiness and the long-term competitiveness of the sector.
